Research Project Details
Project Duration:
05/2017-05/2018
Project Significance:
Activated sludge system is the key part for biological wastewater treatment. This process relies on microorganisms to digest organic matters and remove nutrients like ammonia and phosphorous in the sewage. Understanding the genetic contents of this system will help engineers improving this process and mining valuable microbial resources from this system.
Remarks:
As current research method relies on sequencing the genetic contents of the microorganism. Several Terabytes metagenomics data were generated, hence we need huge computational resources to process these data.
