In-Silico screening of drugs targeting virulence factors in multi-drug resistance bacteria

vangor - Posted on 29 December 2017

Project Description:

Drug discovery has been an important task for scientists to battle emerging diseases. However, due to the over-use of antibiotics over the last decades, bacteria are gaining resistance to the drugs. Some bacteria are even more alarming with their multi-drug resistance. Therefore, drug discovery process must be speeded up. By HKU’s Grid Computing, millions of drugs can be screened which save years of time comparing to testing the drugs directly in vitro.
