Inauguration Ceremony of HKU Grid Point

for Systems Research and Applications in Multiple Disciplines

HKU Grid Point for Systems Research and Applications in Multiple Disciplines Project (HKU Grid Point) is a collaborative project among several departments in The University of Hong Kong (HKU) including: Department of Computer Science, Information Technology Services, Department of Chemistry & Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science.

It is a University Grants Committee (UGC) Special Equipment Grant project and is an extension of China National Grid (CNGrid) in Hong Kong. This project is to set up a state-of-the-art High Performance Computing (HPC) facility as the main research platform for Systems Research Group and to support research in multiple disciplines, which will be connected to other computing resources locally and in Mainland China as a “Grid Point” of a nation-wide CNGrid Computing Infrastructure.
