Wai-sum Chan, Ph.D., F.S.A., is an associate professor of statistics and actuarial science in the University of Hong Kong. He holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from Temple University. His research interests include the modeling of actuarial assumptions and statistical computing. He has published more than 40 refereed papers in learned journals, such as Computational Statistics, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis; and Computer and Mathematics in Simulations.
