Project Description:

Mathematical modelling will be used in this project so the outcome is a computer model that is able to handle both turbulent flows and chemistry simultaneously. The core objective is to investigate the importance or accuracy improvement if pollutant chemistry is considered in pollutant dispersion modelling. The project is directly related to Hong Kong because of the dense vehicular emission in the Hong Kong urban environment. The findings would have a broad impact on the international scientific community that helps, taking our urban environment as a platform, promote Hong Kong as a role model for research endeavour in environmental engineering.
