Excited states of metal complexes: basic research and applications
Excited states of metal complexes have found important applications in a broad range of areas including OLEDs, photocatalysis, sensory materials which are important for tackling issues on such as enviroment and energy crisis. To have an indepth understanding both from experimental and theoretical perspectives of the excited states of metal complexes is essential for rational design and improving properties for better applications of the metal complexes. By employing the state of art experimental methods combined with theoretical calculation, this project is to provide systematically direct and comprehensive characterization for excited states of various series of important metal complexes with a purpose to enrich understanding of the fundamental photophysics, photochemistry and their connection to the varied important applications.
