Study on soft gamma-ray pulsars

rubyngcw - Posted on 25 May 2016

Project Description:

We would like to use the Pass 8 events from Fermi-LAT gamma-ray space telescope to search for the emission from soft gamma-ray pulsars (SGPs). We have a list of candidates for the search on soft gamma-ray emissions. Apart from the analysis using Fermi-LAT, we also use the HXMT telescope to search for any hard X-ray component resulted from the synchrotron emission by the incoming charges from the null charge surface of the pulsar.

Project Duration:
06/2016 to 02/2018
Project Significance:
The study will help to increase the population of soft gamma-ray pulsars. It is also possible to establish a soft gamma-ray pulsar catalog.
