Comammox distribution in environmetal samples

Nitrification, as a two-step process catalyzed by two types of microorganisms, has been expanded by the discovery of the complete ammonia oxidizer (comammox), which could convert ammonia to nitrate by itself, achieving the complete nitrification. In addition, as a key role in the nitrogen cycle of the earth, the discovery of the comammox, opens a new chapter of the microbiology. The objective of this research project is to investigate the habits of this exciting microorganism and reveal the potential implications in natural systems.
