The BIOINFO1/SMPSERVE services (formerly at http://bioinfo1.hku.hk/bio) are running on a Dell R900 server dedicated for the support of bioinformatics application services and general purpose computing application services. The system is equipped with 16 processor cores and running Redhat Enterprise Linux with built-in GNU C/C++ and Fortran compilers.

Staff/students with valid HKU Portal UID can apply for an account to run the following application services on the system.

  • Information Sheet of BIOINFO1/SMPSERVE account application: CF-151 at http://www.its.hku.hk/forms
  • BIOINFO1/SMPSERV Application Forms: CF-151(a-d) at http://www.its.hku.hk/forms
(The smpserv system has been retired in early 2016. It is recommended to apply a HPC account instead.)
