A 64-bit Linux cluster partition was setup at 2008 to augment the existing 32-bit HPCPOWER cluster system. It is consisted of 24 blade servers; each is equipped with two 64-bit quad-core Intel Xeon CPU running at 3GHz and 8GB physical memory. This cluster, currently with 48 quad-core CPUs (or 192 cores), delivers the processing power up to 1.290 Tera-FLOPS(Measured Rmax) / 2.304 Tera-FLOPS(Theoretical Rpeak).

The HPCPOWER2 system has been decommissioned at August 2016, after its 8 years service to the HKU research community.
