Overview
ITS provides a wide range of commercial and open source scientific software packages and tools to facilitate computational research at the University. Software supporting research in bioinformatics, computation chemistry, fluid dynamics, molecular dynamics, etc., are available for use on central HPC clusters. The list of available packages includes, but not limited to, compilers, statistical and mathematical software(such as MATLAB, R) and libraries(IMSL, NAG, ScaLapack), scientific softwares(such as Gaussian, Gromacs, Molden, BLAST).
ITS also subscribed the campus site license with the Numerical Algorithms Group(NAG) for its products. The NAG Libraries are installed on the HPC cluster system. Staff and students can also get a copy of the PC version (for Windows, Linux or Mac) of the Library and install it on their PCs within the HKU campus.
